Young jewelry designers
This year, the main exhibition of Slovenian Jewelry Week (SIJW) will also feature selected works by the younger generation of artists – high school and university students. A large number of young designers responded to the call for participation, which shows the exceptional interest in contemporary jewellery design among the younger generations.
The expert committee, composed of Metka Mikuletič, Anja Radovič and Olga Košica, had the challenging task of selecting just a few artists from the numerous high-quality applications. After careful consideration, they selected five talented artists from four different educational institutions. Their works will be on display at the main exhibition of the SIJW, where they will be presented alongside established names in contemporary jewelry design.
The Jewelry Lab, which operates within the Rog Centre, also makes an important contribution to the development and support of new generations of contemporary jewelry designers. This space, made possible by Zlatarna Celje, was established with the aim of encouraging young creators and providing a modern environment for experimentation, research and development of innovative approaches in jewelry design.
