Intertwine (Preplet)

The energy that surrounds us is a never-ending flow, as it intertwines, shapes and transforms. The Intertwine (Preplet) collection captures this constant dance, where each porcelain leaf resembles the movement of flower petals in the wind and is like a transition between chaos and order. Like flowers in nature, porcelain transforms into unique forms when shaped by hand. These express the connection between the material and the immaterial, where the leaves intertwine into a whole, symbolizing invisible forces that drive both, nature and humanity. Each piece carries the message that energy, like blooming, knows no boundaries, but only transitions, transforms and creates something new.

Nika Horvat creates unique porcelain jewelry, exploring the intertwining of materiality, balance, and aesthetics. In 2022, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, where she completed a degree in ceramic and glass design, and is continuing her studies at the master's level. Her jewerly pieces are the result of a thoughtful design process that combines traditional techniques and modern approaches. She draws inspiration from nature, especially from the delicate lines of flowers and leaves, which she transforms into handmade pieces with the recognizable layering of thin porcelain leaves. In her design, porcelain allows her to play with light and shadow, which emphasizes details and dynamics. She pays special attention to textures and the feeling of wearability, as she wants each piece to be not only visually appealing, but also pleasant to the touch. Jewelry thus becomes an intertwining of art and personal expression, and a harmonious connection between the wearer’s body and nature.
