Through the darkness IX, X, XX
“Through the darkness explores the relationship between hope and despair. The current state of the world has left me feeling the depths of despair with little expectation of a change for the better. So where does hope come from? Perhaps only from our strength, our willingness to fight and our determination to walk through the darkness without letting it engulf us.
The patinated base of the ring represents the darkness we face. In it, I have set red garnets as drops of blood. Out of the darkness, shiny, polished silver, as well as white pearls, are pushing through and coming to the surface – a symbol of hope, rebirth and new beginnings.
The three rings from this collection represent different stages of hope. When it's pushed in the dark matter, when it's poisoned, and when it grows out.”
