After Everything

In the work After Everything Smiljka Franjić presents a series of metal forms created as sketches for the first Deconstruction Biennial. Spheres and circles attached to a black base – meander, form new compositions of bent segments and geometric bodies, arising from the deconstruction of the circle.

Smiljka Franjić was born in 1963 in Zagreb. In 1984, she graduated from the Faculty of Arts, University of Zagreb, Department of Pedagogy, and became a primary school teacher. In 2001 she attended the Author Painting School “Agora”, under the mentorship of academic painter Zoltan Novak, and in 2007 she completed a course in silver design at the Open Studio Lumezi. She is a member of ULUPUH – Section for the Design of Precious Metals and Contemporary Jewelry – and of HZSU. She has participated in approximately forty group and several solo exhibitions, as well as fashion shows. She lives and works in Zagreb.
