PETRA PODNARČUK, Croatia

C.R.V.

In C.R.V./Hose of a Working Fairy, Petra Podnarčuk shapes a construction of five elements that transform into six separate pieces of jewelry – a necklace, a pendant, a brooch, a bracelet, and a pair of earrings – with the largest tubular element (the hose, i.e. the worm) becomes a pendant from a brooch, and the chain becomes a bracelet. Her brooch Balance consists of a solid and a hollow element joined at a single tangent; they complement one another and emphasizing the differences in an awkward position. Both pieces are made of patinated copper, alluding to the erosion of time and the illusory permanence of their combined form.

Material: copper, silver, steel

Technique: shaping, soldering, processing, patination
