Pretkanka (Necklace/Collar)
Pretkanka is an experiment that explores the possibility that a material can be perceived as noble due to its new role. In this case, it is a disposable aluminium baking tray, which in its basic function is waste – when used to create a piece of jewelry, it acquires new value.
The name Pretkanka comes from two meanings: it is “interwoven”, because it pretends to be something it is not, and because it is intertwined at the same time.
The necklace/collar is made up of 56 computer-designed modules that together form the pattern.
