“This series of works originates from my grandmother, whose actions deeply inspired me as a child. She transformed old, worn-out socks into small wallets – durable yet unattractive objects that once embarrassed me. Over time, these ‘sock wallets’ became cherished memories and a bond between generations. As a designer, I realised her ingenuity symbolised how ordinary materials could hold extraordinary value. Inspired by her creativity and environmental consciousness, I explored these ideas in my work, using cyanotype techniques to transfer sock textures onto recycled fabrics. This process links memory, material, and emotion, reflecting humility through contemporary jewellery. For me, it is a journey of reinterpreting the past while breaking creative boundaries.”
