TANJA ROJC

Dawn of opportunity

A handmade silver brooch combines goldsmithing, enamelling and mechanical techniques. The oval shape of the central part hides a tree of life with roots and branches, which slowly awakens in the morning dawn, staged by the iridescence of blue shades of enamel. The interior of the brooch hides three pairs of wings, which are enamelled with transparent enamel. With the help of an internal mechanism on the chain, the wings open asymmetrically upwards, which gives the brooch dynamism and illustrates movement as a symbol of growth and endless possibilities.

The inspiration for it comes from the stories, knowledge and memories tied to her great-grandfather, Maksim Gaspari; these memories have been preserved through generations.

“Drawing strength from family roots helps us to slowly awaken into a new world with each new beginning. With the help of wide-open wings, we grow and develop.”
