Volnenke (Woolen beads)

Jewelry made from felted wool represents a contemporary interpretation of a traditional material – wool as a substance, transformed into a new expression by the creative process. Soft fibres are shaped by hand into three-dimensional structures, where each piece is created as a complete unique work.

Felted wool, with its shape, texture and colour transitions, creates a subtle play of light and shadow, which gives the jewelry depth and movement that is often unnoticed in traditional use. Wool, strongly anchored in Slovenian cultural heritage, is thus lifted from the everyday environement and revived as a design medium, a symbol of the connection between tradition, innovation and sustainability. VOLNENKE tell a story of the reinterpretation of heritage, which through a creative touch becomes something entirely new, yet intimately homely.
