OLJA TODOSIJEVIĆ

Recognition

In her works, two brooches that resemble banners and a necklace like a flute, the author represents the basic essence of (almost) all of us – the desire for freedom and justice. The simple form of this jewelry, basically an imitation of an object, indicates the vital importance of this desire, its presence in all living beings as the most important, essential and simplest form of matter – our basic substance, our freedom. All three pieces of jewelry are made in the simplest way, without decoration or artistic effect, because only in this way can they survive and faithfully show the essence and truth. The linen thread on the necklace symbolizes strength, as we know that it is one of the strongest natural threads.
Dedicated to the protests in Serbia.
