Meadowlands Series: Bracelet 6

Grassy landscapes in nature are preserved by the occasional forest fire. The first raindrops that fall on a landscape blackened by fire are as transformative as the flames that raged so recently. Seeds sprout in every shade of green and soon spill into a sea of flowers. In the Meadowlands series, wild flowers made of goatskin are a metaphor of life and death, fire and rain, plant and animal.

Material: raw goatskin, wine, yerba mate (tea), paraloid resin, acrylic paint, soap. Paints: acrylic paint and paint from wine and yerba mate.

Technique: scraping, soaking in lime water, drying on a flat surface, painting, cutting, sewing, knitting, weaving, folding, chewing and sealing the surface with soap and a thin coating of acrylic resin.
