Three Secrets – Brooches

Three Secrets – a collection of glass brooches, where tiny pieces combine to form subtle fragments of a face. Each brooch is like a mysterious trace of identity, hidden between light and shadow. The black colour emphasizes elegance, mystery and depth, while the play of white and gray of the glass pieces creates a sense of movement, sophistication and inner drama. The collection is a meditation on the secrets we carry within ourselves and on the tiny fragments that together create a whole.

Material: float glass

Technique: enamel painting

Korina Kotnik is a fourth-year student of the optical technician program. Due to health reasons, she attended the glass laboratory instead of physical education classes, where she learned about glass painting techniques from her mentor Zinka. She designed and created pieces of jewerly for a solo exhibition titled Transformations. It is an opus of 25 pieces that were created over four years using the technique of enamel painting and screen printing. Korina is the face of all transformations embodied in hollow forms.
