DALIJA SEGA
Lightning bolt
"When making the cuttlebone necklace, I was inspired by the thought of Energy and thus the lightning that strikes in a storm. The expression Lightning bolt has quite a few symbolic meanings that I wanted to express with this necklace.
Lightning represents raw power and force of nature. It can also represent sudden inspiration. It is often associated with a flash of insight, creativity or revelation. It is a symbol for a sudden, sometimes dramatic change of circumstances and also for divine or supernatural power; it symbolizes divine authority. The layers within the cuttlefish bones represent to me the multilayered nature of life, the events in it, as well as ourselves. I made the lightning bolt in gold, from 24-carat gold and gold glaze. In doing so, I attributed to it a higher meaning of events in our lives.”
