Brooch Temperance

The Brooch Temperance is part of the Interior series, which consists of 30 works that together form a turning point in the artist’s life and a visible and invisible journey through her personal history. The series represents a journey from childhood to the present, marked by reflection, acceptance, maturation and, above all, forgiveness. Art is established as a space where the unconscious can speak and where memory takes material form. This brooch represents grandmothers displaced from their countries by war and hunger: figures of resilience and care, evoked through the memory of Sunday clothes and a love of plants – symbols of belonging, affection and survival.

Material: bronze, wood, ceramics, copper, fired enamel

Technique: mixed media
