Eter

“Eter” denotes something sublime, heavenly and fragile, which awakens a feeling of “spiritual exaltation” in an individual.
In my case, it represents a turning point for someone who has always perceived himself as unspiritual – even as a heretic!
Life, through many good and not so good experiences, has forced me to start looking at its meaning differently. To throw off the protective layers and embrace fragility, strength and light. Thus, the need arose to use glass that carries these very qualities.
It is a wall work shaped like the neck of a person gazing towards the sky. This lilac glass neck rests on an iron structure that needs to be screwed to the wall. This glass element, open at the top and bottom, allows a directed beam of light to penetrate through the piece shaped in this way from above.

TERESA MILHEIRO, Portugal

Teresa Milheiro holds an artistic degree from the António Arroio School of Art, IADE and AR.CO, an art center. With a career spanning over forty years in artistic creation and production, her approach to jewellery as contemporary art is unique.
Each piece of jewellery she creates expands and grows into a sculptural work, in which both the intrinsic and extrinsic value of the diverse raw materials, as well as the technical mastery and innovation stem from prior research and conceptual reflection. She also transcends the strict realm of contemporary jewelry through disciplinary interweaving with other forms of art, particularly in diverse dialogues with photography, music, theatre and performance.
