DODO PARUZNIK
OCEANS ECHO (AT THE BEACH Series), EAT ME (AT THE BEACH Series), O COZZE MIO (AT THE BEACH Series)
The "AT THE BEACH" collection reinterprets substance by transforming seafood remnants, found objects and ocean microplastics into pieces of jewelry. Discarded materials are reused, turning traces of pollution into symbols of sustainability that challenge ideas of value and waste. Each piece illustrates a transformation process: raw remnants, coated in resin and gold leaf, contrast movement with stillness and address environmental issues. The series incorporates urban substances such as microplastics and encourages discussions about sustainability through wearable art. Overlooked materials are revalued – like semi-polished shells or embedded glass beads that create an invisible flow – and reflect cycles of decomposition and renewal, promoting environmental awareness.
