Otredad fagocitada (Absorbed Otherness)

The question of who we are as individuals and as a society forces us to differentiate and position ourselves in relation to others, both out of necessity and in terms of our way of being.

Identity means affirming ourselves through what we have in common; it simultaneously includes and excludes. This Latin American tendency to seek a kind of unity that connects and unites us carries with it the risk of absorbing the many “others” who inhabit this territory and losing them in the process.

Material: ceramic, old thread, 925 silver, chaguar fibres

Technique: crocheted, clay modelling, mixed media
