Sigrun Palmisano

The series of extremely tactile and sensual pieces was created just in time for this submission. I am only back at a real jeweller bench and workshop for a few weeks now, after several years, and the sensations around this were very strong – to touch metal and tools, work with heat, to smell dust, putty and acid, the sounds of sawing, hammering and filing …

The pieces want to show that impact on my senses and the state of intense touchability I experienced.
At the same time, they also refer to the experience of motherhood and the simultaneity of tenderness and pain, vulnerability, skin, nipples, goosebumps, ruptures, transformation …

As an allusion, the silver is met with a soft opposite, pink cotton balls that hold the brooches and ear studs in place.
