I am excited by the sculptural and fluid potential of stitch and textiles. The notion of play is central to my practice and these new “Technicolour” wearables exemplify the joy and excitement that I find in the creative process. Each piece is formed from padded, machine and hand stitched, digitally printed fabric. The necklaces can be adapted and embellished with tassels that may be tied on as desired to create clusters of stripy bobbles or more classic fan arrangements. The long necklace strands can also be linked and curled together by the tassels, to form diff¬erent shapes across the chest of the wearer. Taking inspiration from childhood memories of Technicolor movies, like the Wizard of Oz and Singin’ in the Rain, these pieces are a visual treat.
