SUMMARY:N-A-D-OBJECTS\, exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Faculty of Design\, independent higher education institution \nAtelje Galerija \nStari trg 30\, Ljubljana \nfrom 10 April to 19 April 2025 \nExhibition viewing: April 10 – April 19\, 2025\, by appointment. For appointments\, call: +386 (0)1 421 34 50 \n  \nThe n-a-d-Objects exhibition project refers to the 100th anniversary of the First Surrealist Manifesto\, written in 1924 by André Breton. In the form of wearable objects\, students from different fields of study at the Faculty of Design (Interior Design\, Fashion and Textiles\, Visual Communication and Design Management) will visually discuss their vision of contemporary challenges of the community and the individual in the context of reason and rationality. They are inspired by various works of surrealism (Salvador Dali\, Max Ernst\, Luis Bunuel\, Rene Magritte\, Man Ray\, Andre Breton). The design solutions include diverse approaches to materiality\, the use of visual elements and meaning in the conveyed message of the exhibited wearable objects solutions. \n  \nTANJA DEVETAK AND STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF DESIGN \n  \nwww.fd.si\, @faculty_of_design

SUMMARY:EXHIBITION ENERGY / ENERGIJA\, LJUBLJANA
DESCRIPTION:Center Rog \nTrubarjeva 72\, Ljubljana\nOpening: Friday\, 11 April 2025\, at 19:00\nExhibition open: 10–19 April 2025\, Monday to Saturday\, 10:00–18:00 \nThe main curated exhibition of SIJW 2025\, on display at the Center Rog from 10 to 19 April\, is inspired by the theme “Energy/Energy”. We present a selection of contemporary jewellery designers from Slovenia\, Europe\, and beyond\, selected by an expert jury. The best among them will be awarded prizes for their outstanding achievements. \nThe designers explore the dynamics of creativity and transformation\, examining how energy goes beyond physical resources to influence the psychological\, emotional\, and spiritual dimensions that shape our world. The exhibition also highlights how social and cultural tensions linked to energy transitions transform different sectors of society and inspire artistic expression. \nContemporary designers draw inspiration from these changes\, transforming raw materials into artistic creations that reflect the spirit of the times. The exhibition provides insight into the role of energy in artistic creation and social change\, offering a space for reflection on art in a time of transformation. \nCurators and coordinators of the exhibition Dalija Sega\, Olga Košica\, Metka Mikuletič and Rok Marinšek \nExhibition coordinators from the Rog Centre: Anja Radovič and Tina Deu \nJury: Anastasia Young (GB)\, Petra Bole\, Olga Košica\, Martina Lončar and Rok Marinšek \n  \nSLOVENIAN DESIGNERS: \nAleš Hočevar\, Anže Mrak\, Arijana Gadžijev\, Bojana Kovačič Zemljič\, Dalija Sega\, Eva Rogl Mežnar\, Huberto Široka\, Katarina Ekart\, Kristina Drnovšek\, Martina Obid Mlakar\, Metka Mikuletič\, Milica Bubanja\, Mojca Gazič\, Nataša Druškovič\, Nataša Grandovec\, Petra Bric\, Peter Dragolič\, Sandra Kocjančič\, Sara Mermal\, Srečko Molk\, Stane Randl\, Tanja Rojc\, Uršula Rihtar\, Žiga Kodre\, Christoph Steidl Porenta. \n  \nFOREIGN DESIGNERS: \nAndreia Gabriela Popescu (RO)\, Benjamin Kavazović (BIH)\, Beth Sanderson (AU)\, Biljana Klekachkoska (MK)\, Busnel Isabelle (FR)\, Camilla Mileto (IT)\, Chok Shin Ni (SG)\, Cindy Xinyi Wu (CN)\, Diogo Alves (PT)\, Dodo Paruznik (AT)\, Doroteya Komoshtichaniva (BG)\, Dunja Naerlović (HR)\, Erin Yiran Li (CN)\, Estera Broda (PL)\, Eunhee Cho (KR)\, Haldis Scheicher (AT)\, Helen Hancock (UK)\, Joanna Muzyka (PL)\, Karolis Cerneckis (LT)\, Marija Radosavljević (SRB)\, Marina Draženović (HR)\, Nadezhda Elkina (PL)\, Paolo Gambarelli (IT)\, Pei Han Wu (TW)\, Rui An (UK)\, Salvador Vico (ES)\, Sanja Đorđević (SRB)\, Silke Fleischer (BE)\, Tomas Miskovic (SK)\, Tong Wu (CN)\, Viki Gomez (ES)\, Wenqi Fan (CN)\, Xuan Xu (CN)\, Youjin Seo (UK)\, Yusi Wang (UK)\, Yuxiao Zhu (CN) \n  \nYOUNG JEWELRY DESIGNERS: \nSUPPORTED BY ZLATARNA CELJE AND CENTER ROG \n  \nThis year\, the main exhibition of Slovenian Jewellery Week (SIJW) will also showcase selected works by the younger generation of artists—school and university students. SUMMARY:LEA CULETTO: COMBING THROUGH\, exhibition
DESCRIPTION:SCCA\, Institute for Contemporary Art – Ljubljana \nŠkuc Gallery\, \nStari trg 21\, Ljubljana \nfrom 11 April to 6 May 2025 \nOpening of the exhibition: Friday\, 11 April 2025\, at 19:00 \nExhibition viewing: April 11 – May 6\, 2025\, Tuesday to Sunday\, 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM \n  \nLee Culetto’s solo exhibition Combing Through presents the artist’s latest project\, in which she explores the socio-cultural view of the female body\, this time through the prism of hair\, hairiness and beauty standards. The artist explores the history of hair and its duality – simultaneously alive and dead\, valued and disgusting – while uncovering myths\, spells and superstitions in which hair symbolised power and identity. Through these narratives\, the female body was often disciplined and controlled. \nLea Culetto creates in various media. She often uses manual skills and crafts such as sewing\, knitting and embroidery\, which were traditionally considered women’s work. She combines these approaches with sustainable technologies and new recipes. Among other things\, she collects her own hair\, grinds it into pigments and mixes it with bio-based materials\, thus preparing bioplastic beads for stringing jewelry\, ink for writing or bio-textiles. In doing so\, she draws on Victorian mourning jewelry\, and her work emphasize the deep cultural significance of hair while simultaneously provoking disgust and discomfort associated with natural bodily processes. \nLea Culetto (1995) completed her postgraduate studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts\, Architecture and Design (ALUO). As a self-employed cultural practitioner\, she works in the field of visual arts\, with an emphasis on a feminist approach. Using textiles and mixed media\, she creates objects and installations through which she questions ideals\, taboos and notions of the female body\, often drawing on personal experience. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and festivals in Slovenia and abroad. She also conducts various workshops and works as a costume designer. \n  \nLEA CULETTO \nSCCA-LJUBLJANA\, GALERIJA ŠKUC \n  \nwww.scca-ljubljana.si/ \nhttps://www.instagram.com/world_of_art_school/ \nhttps://www.galerijaskuc.si/si/

DESCRIPTION:Faculty of Education\, Department of Visual Arts and Design\, University of Primorska \nGallery Insula Izola \nSmrekarjeva ulica 20\, Izola \nOpening: Saturday\, April 12\, 2025\, at 12:00 PM\nExhibition viewing: April 12 – April 26\, 2025\, Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM & 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM\, Saturday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM \n  \nThe group exhibition Alegría presents works by students of Visual Arts and Design at the Faculty of Education\, University of Primorska. The exhibition explores joy as a universal creative force that transcends personal and cultural boundaries. \nThrough modern jewelry\, students explore how design can become more than just an aesthetic expression – as a carrier for positive energy\, personal stories and emotions. By exploring innovative shapes and materials\, they test the boundaries of traditional jewelry and raise questions: \nHow can jewelry express joy and life energy? \nWhat impact do materials\, shapes and colours have on the perception of joy? \nHow does jewellery reflect personal feelings and memories? \n  \nStudents of the Visual Arts and Design programme at UP PEF under the mentorship of Dr. TINA COTIČ and professional assistance of contemporary jewellery designer SANDRA KOCJANČIČ \n  \nhttps://www.pef.upr.si/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/uppef \nhttps://www.instagram.com/uppef_vuo/

It is an inexhaustible source of inspiration and innovation\, reflected in design\, material choices\, colours\, and forms. \nMany jewellery pieces—brooches\, rings\, bracelets\, and earrings—on display at this exhibition incorporate vibrant colours\, playful shapes\, and innovative materials\, evoking feelings of happiness and vitality. Each piece tells a personal or collective story\, transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. \nFocusing on sustainability and creativity\, the use of recycled or unconventional materials adds a layer of hope and responsibility. This fusion of aesthetics and social awareness reinforces the idea that art can serve as both a source of joy (Alegría) and a means of transformation.
